Title: A double blind trial for the clinical management of psychogenic headache.

Abstract:
80 patients given the Hamilton Rating Scales weekly, received various courses of sedatives, tranquilizers, antidepressants, and analgesics without relief for more than a short period. All previous medications were stopped and 4 drug dosages allocated at random. Doxepin showed a significant effect on headache, anxiety, and depression, and improvement continued longer than that shown with other drugs. Up to the 4th wk.
